Advantages
of Telephone Counselling
For some people, Telephone Counselling has many advantages over face-to-face Counselling for instance:
- Face to Face contact may
be intimidating for you
- You may live in a remote area where there are no Counsellors.
- Travel may not be easy due to perhaps a physical or mental disability
- You may be in an already stressed and anxious state
and cannot face leaving the security of your home.
- You do not wish other members of your family to know you are seeking help
- You may find the commitments of work or family leaves you with little spare time.
How
to set up Telephone Counselling:
The first thing to do is to ring the Here To Listen Counselling
Practice (Manchester) on 0161 7890547 or email me online, to check that I am the right Counsellor for you,
and that Telephone Counselling is the right form of Counselling for you.
All Counselling is confidential.
You can ask any questions you want to about how the Telephone
Counselling Service works. You can also email me for information. Once you have agreed to proceed and paid for the session, a date and
time will be booked for the first session (at a suitable time for both client and therapist). You
will be responsible for making the call (we use a standard rate landline number), if you are unable to make the call
at the time arranged, and you have not given 24 hours notice of this, you will lose
the booked session.
If you need to cancel, or rearrange a call time, 24 hours notice must be given to avoid
the loss of the booked session. If we need to cancel or rearrange the time or date, as much notice
as possible will be given to you, and you will be credited if an alternative
time cannot be agreed.
Payment for each session must made in advance of the session.
At the end of the first session you are
under no obligation to book another one, the choice is entirely up to you. If the therapist feels that Telephone
Counselling is not the best form of therapy for you, they will try and refer you to an alternative service.
Calls can be booked for daytime or evening sessions, and you can choose a 30
minute session or 60 minute session.
If we feel that it is in the best interests of the client; we
reserve the right to cease Counselling work with that client.
Any verbal abuse or threatening language will
not be tolerated.
